I know things have been very quiet on my blog and I apologize for that. I have lots to share but never seem to find the time to blog about it! Like I usually say, I'm going to try to be better about maintaining this space…but of course, don't hold your breath. lol!
Okay, I thought I'd start with something recent. Like yesterday recent. Yesterday I received a message that one of my prints sold (with a stock agency that I belong to) and that it was going to be a book cover. I was very happy about that but became ECSTATIC when I learned the author and what book!
My mixed media photo of ranunculus and butterflies is the French and Italian cover of Elizabeth Gilbert's "Signature of All Things!" I had no idea that translated books have a different cover than the American version. I was so excited by this news that I paced my house for a couple of hours, laughing and crying, before a dear friend came by with a bottle of champagne to help me celebrate!
During times of winter hibernation, I make a bad habit of becoming quiet and a bit uninspired, even to the point of wondering if I'm on the right path…and then something like this happens to say, "yes, I am!" I adore Elizabeth Gilbert's work and if someone would have asked me if I could pick an author/book where I'd love to see my photography…well, she's at the top of my list! So thankful and feeling newly inspired to begin 2014!
This print is also available in my Etsy shop.
