Frederick MD Baby Photographer . Little Sweet Pea

Three month's old!

And here she is three month's ago...
Baby C...isn't she a doll!! So, I had a hard time getting her to look directly at the camera but I love the way she looks in this photo. She is so sweet and was in such good spirits. Only 3 months old and really strong. She was all about sitting up. I think Finn might have himself a little girlfriend. I'll share more photos from this session soon!

Shabby Chic, Tea Light Photo Blocks

From this...

To this!

I've been busy with a new project! Shabby chic inspired tea light, photo blocks!
These have been fun to make and a lengthy process as I'm starting them from scratch and have never made anything like them before. My last wood shop class was probably in 6th grade when I made a lovely wood, cutting board...that's the extent of my wood skills. But with the help of my hubby and dad, I figured some things out.

I'm going to make more and put them in my Etsy shop. They are charming in that they have slight imperfections, a real shabby chic feel that will add a touch of comfiness to your home. Let me know what you think? I'd love to hear how I might make them better or different.

Maryland Baby Photographer . Finn

Wow, it's been a while! This little guy has been keeping me busy and I've been slacking in regard to blogging. Plus, sometimes don't you feel like you're not writing to anyone. Not really sure if anyone is reading this...and so what does one write. I think for now, I'll write as if I'm speaking to the "universe".

So, it's near the end of February and a lot has happened the last several months. I was laid off from my job two weeks before I went on maternity leave. Isn't that a bummer!? But the wonderful thing that came out of it is that I was given a nice severance, which allowed me to refocus. I'm not one for a desk job in corporate America. I'm one for creativity, walks in nature, working on my art and photography, spending time with my babes and family/friends. But that doesn't really pay the bills now does it.

My goals for this year are to concentrate on two endeavors. One, my Etsy shop and fine art photography and functional art sales. I've signed up to do 6 craft shows this year and hope to sign up for more. The first one was cancelled b/c of all the snow, but the next one is March 6th! (More details about that to follow.) I'm also going to get back into exhibiting my work again. I just had a solo show at the Frederick Chamber of Commerce (taking down this Friday) and I'm looking into more exhibits as I write.

The second endeavor is engagement and wedding photography. It's what I love the most out of all the "portraiture" type photography that I've been doing the last couple years. I'm working with Brian McEntire and second shooting for him. He's already booked 8 or 9 weddings so far and I'm really excited about them!

I'm hoping these two endeavors will keep me away from having to go back to a desk job! Come on universe!! I know you're listening. I'm putting it out there. It's what I want. Help me make it happen! Oh, and to be clear, I want those things...but more clearly, I want to be successful at them!

Hoping that your year is filled with living your dream and being successful at it!!
